Although Abbott and Hunt Furniture Ltd was only established in 2022, it has evolved from a business with a longstanding history within the furniture industry.

Our senior director Richard Abbott began his career as a teenager with an apprenticeship at Ercol Furniture.

He then moved to G Plan where he worked in the finishing department as a polisher and graduated to group finishing manager. His next promotion took him to another furniture company, Lexterten, where he was works manager and from there he took the opportunity to start his own furniture finishing and restoration company which he ran successfully for 30 years. Along the way his son Giles came on board and with his dads tutelage has honed his finishing skills.

Last year Alex Hunt, an incredibly talented and innovative young furniture maker, joined the company allowing us to grow the business to include furniture manufacturing as well as finishing.
